For Those with a Broken Heart and a Contrite Spirit

Testimony

With the Scriptures that support each part.

Succinct Version

Just after I turned five years old, I heard the Gospel for the first time. But even before that moment, I already knew God as the One who watched over me. When the message was spoken, He called out to this child and spoke above the words of man. In that instant, I knew that Jesus was God manifest in the flesh — because this is exactly what my God would do.

So I accepted Jesus as my Lord, my God, and my Savior.

But the Spirit was not finished with me. I heard within: “Give your life to God — all of it: past, present, and future.” Even as a little child, I knew such a thing was impossible for human strength, but I believed God could do it. So I gave my life to Him, and His Spirit entered into me — and He has never left.

It may be hard to see from the outside, wrapped as I am in this old earthly body, but by my life, my words, and the heart that belongs wholly to Him, I am His Confidant — one He has called, saved, and filled with His Spirit.

Testing by the Word

I follow the measure God Himself has given:

The Word of the Lord says: "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" John 14:15; 1 John 5:3; Deuteronomy 11:1; Ecclesiastes 12:13.

We know this not because we judge James 4:12, but because we have eyes to see the clear evidence Hebrews 5:14; 1 Corinthians 2:15. Also, God Himself has given us the measure: "You will know them by their fruits" Matthew 7:16-20; Luke 6:43-44; Matthew 12:33; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:9.

The supremacy of our Lord Jesus Christ as the cornerstone of the Gospel. He is God 1 Timothy 3:16; John 1:1-3, the very Word made flesh Hebrews 1:1-2, and the Scriptures testify to Him with divine authority 2 Timothy 3:16-17. As Psalm 138:2 declares, God has magnified His Word above all His Name.

If you have never encountered the Gospel in this way — pure, unfiltered, holy, and rooted in grace — I invite you to read the New Testament afresh. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you through His Word.

The truth of Jesus Christ is not lost — but it is often reinterpreted, diminished, or devalued. Not by revelation from God, but by the hands of men.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Jesus is The way
Jesus is the path of righteousness—the highway of holiness, and the only route to the Father.

John 1:14; John 1:17; John 8:32; John 15:1; John 18:37; Romans 15:8-9; 2 Corinthians 1:19-20; Colossians 2:9; Colossians 2:17; 1 John 5:6; 1 John 5:20; Revelation 3:14; Revelation 19:11
Jesus is The life
Jesus is the source and sustainer of life—both now and forever. Through Him, we are made spiritually alive.
John 1:4; John 5:21; John 5:25-29; John 6:33; John 6:51; John 6:57; John 6:68; John 8:51; John 10:28; John 11:25-26; John 17:2-3; Acts 3:15; Romans 5:21; 1 Corinthians 15:45; Colossians 3:4; 1 John 1:1-2; 1 John 5:11-12; Revelation 22:1; Revelation 22:17
Jesus is The door (but by me)
Jesus is the exclusive access to the Father—no one enters except through Him. There is no other name, no other way, no other mediator between God and man.
John 10:7; John 10:9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Isaiah 35:8-9; Matthew 11:27; Romans 5:2; Ephesians 2:18; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 10:19-22; 1Peter 1:21

Declared the Lord’s

By the very measure that condemns, I am declared the Lord’s John 3:16; John 3:18; 1 John 4:6; Romans 8:9; 2 Timothy 2:19. I was an outcast Jeremiah 30:17, yet I am His own Psalm 118:22; Isaiah 56:8. For I am Sion Jeremiah 30:17; Psalm 132:13‑14; Hebrews 12:22‑23; 1 Peter 2:9: His dwelling place (1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 2:21‑22; Psalm 26:8, His possession Deuteronomy 7:6; Titus 2:14; Malachi 3:17, His holy habitation Exodus 15:17; Zechariah 2:10‑11.

My Calling

The timing of my calling is something of a mystery. God may have been drawing me from my earliest moments, but it was when I turned five that the Spirit came into me. No man‑made faith, no trust in man, no religion, ordinance, or human tradition brought me to Him, and I didn’t even have a Bible. The Lord God Himself called me and made Himself known to me (Psalm 118:8‑9; Jonah 2:9; Galatians 1:11‑12). For it is written: “By grace you have been saved through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8‑9).

Therefore:

  • No church system saved me — only the Lord Himself.
  • No man‑made faith or religion saved me — God's Grace did.
  • No human faith saved me — the Spirit of God did.
  • Too little to read and with no Holy Bible, God Himself explained.
  • I wasn’t saved by a belief about God, but by God Himself.

Personal Sacrifice

Even after I accepted Jesus as my God and Savior Romans 10:9-10; Acts 4:12, His Spirit kept on speaking: "You must give all your life to God — all of it: past, present, and future" Luke 9:23; Romans 12:1; Matthew 22:37.

Filled by His Spirit

Even as a child, I knew I couldn’t do that myself Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 7:18. So I believed that where it is impossible for man, God could do it — "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" Matthew 19:26; Luke 1:37; Jeremiah 32:17.

And then the Holy Ghost came into me — the one true Baptism Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:5, 8; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 12:13 — just as it is written: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5

Witness and Call

This is my witness: the Lord God has done this, and it is marvelous in my eyes Psalm 118:23. I stand not in my own strength, but in the grace given to me through Jesus Christ 2 Corinthians 12:9; Romans 5:1-2. I am Sion — His dwelling place, His possession, His holy habitation — and I will declare His truth until He comes Psalm 96:3; Matthew 24:14.

To all who hear, test every spirit by the Word 1 John 4:1, hold fast to what is good 1 Thessalonians 5:21, and seek the Lord while He may be found Isaiah 55:6. For the Day of the Lord is near Joel 2:1, and blessed are those who are ready Luke 12:37.
